About us

To make a great wine you bring all of your artistry, dedication, science and passion to the table. We bring the world's most respected judges from around the world to the other side of that table. Competition on a truly international scale – all for the best of reasons – Giving Back.

You are invited to enter the

Great American Amateur Wine Competition

to be held in Rochester, NY, on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

Open to all home winemakers in North America.

Why enter this competition?

FEEDBACK, FEEDBACKFEEDBACK - we have created a unique, easy to read, comprehensive Scoring and Feedback Sheet for our judges to use in evaluating your wines. This gives you qualitative feedback across more than 15 critical aspects of a great wine. Flighting and scheduling procedures give ample time to the judges to fully evaluate each wine and provide meaningful feedback.

WE HAVE THE BEST JUDGES. Our judges include the most influential people in the wine industry - AWS certified judges, sommeliers, award-winning amateur winemakers, and wine industry writers and consultants.

ALL WINES are blind judged; each glass is identified only by a number. Judges are given the classification prior to each flight. They do not know the producer or region.

EACH WINE is judged on its own merit — it’s presence, balance and character — not by how it compares to others in the flight.

SIMPLE & AFFORDABLE TO ENTER - only $20.00 and one (1) bottle required per entry.

SHOW OFF YOUR SUCCESS - beautiful medals are awarded to all Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze medal winners. A one of a kind, hand-crafted trophy is awarded to the Best In Show winner.

OUR GOAL IS TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR TALENT AND HELP YOU MAKE MORE GREAT WINE!

Awards

Medals are awarded for Double-Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze winning wines. The BEST IN SHOW winner will receive a beautiful hand-crafted trophy.

Promotion of Winners
